Recommendation: Highly Recommended
Dudley the penguin loved to play - all by himself. The problem was, he was a cuddly, lovable penguin and all his brothers and sisters just wanted to cuddle with him.
One day Dudley runs away and is so happy to be alone - at least for a few moments. After being chased by an eskimo Dudley gets lost and begins to feel lonely. Dudley learns that he really does enjoy being a cuddly penguin and loves his brothers and sisters.
Positives: An all around fun little story that your kids will enjoy - plus, you can't read a book called Cuddlly Dudley without actually cuddling your child! Don't pass up on the opportunity!
Negatives: None
Talking Points: I can't help but think of the story of Joseph in the Old Testament when I read this story. While there are differences (Joseph didn't ask to "be alone" or get sold into slavery), I can imagine the family reunion all those years later being a wonderful time together, similar to Dudley's reunion with his family (Genesis 37-50).
Age Level: 3-6 year olds
